Wyverns, Dragons & Dinosaurs. Oh My.

Dinosaurs are dragons.

I don’t understand why this isn’t accepted fact, but it’s true. Look at them. I’m sure they even breathed fire. Until some scientist proves otherwise, I’m going with it.

My husband thinks dinosaurs don’t have enough legs and wings. Fine. So wyvern. They’re still dragons.

The word dinosaur wasn’t invented until 1841. Before that, they were described as dragons.

The Bible says this about them.

Job 40:15-19 “Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.”

In my story, I have Draig, which are chymaera that turn into dragons. We don’t actually meet them until book 2, but they are similar to the Wyn, the gryphons. I’ve structured my chymaera to all have different colors. The Wyn are mostly blue and white. They’re ivory in their humanoid form. The Draig are earth colors, then copper and gold when they turn. Their Cyntae is Tieson.

Anyhow, I just have this conversation with my son a lot and thought it would be fun to post and see what you guys think. Are dinosaurs dragons?
